A Waterloo man accused of supplying the area with methamphetamine is now facing federal charges from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 43 year old Ruben Vasquez Velardes was accused of supplying more than five pounds of meth to the Waterloo area between March and May of this year. State prosecutors have asked the court to drop those charges, however, in favor of a federal case of Illegal Reentry. Vasquez, who is a citizen of Mexico, has been deported from the United States at least three times, in February of 2007, October of 2009, and June of 2014.
