A fiery crash in Floyd County on Saturday evening sent both drivers to the hospital. Just before 7:00 p.m. along Highway 18 between Echo Avenue and Foothill Avenue 42 year old Bruce O’Hern Jr. of Mason City was traveling eastbound when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of his Dodge Ram 1500 and crossed the median and entered the westbound lanes where he struck a Ford F350. The Ford entered the ditch where its trailer overturned and the truck caught on fire. The driver of the Ford, 45 year old Timothy Dodd of Bowling Green, Missouri, was taken to MercyOne North Iowa by ambulance. O’Hern had to extricated from his vehicle. He, too, was taken to MercyOne North Iowa by ambulance.
