Those in Waverly likely noticed a large plume of smoke coming from the northwest portion of town Tuesday. That fire was at the Yard Waste Site. Fire crews were on site to deal with the blaze. The initial indication was that it was spontaneous combustion in the mulch pile and not set intentionally, although that has not yet been confirmed.
