Fire Claims Home, Garage & Camper

A fire in Waterloo has claimed a home, a detached garage, and a camper, according to KWWL. Firefighters were called to the scene of the fire on George Drive around 3:00 Sunday afternoon. When they arrived they found the home in flames. After nearly an hour, crews were able to bring the fire under control. The fire started in the garage where the owner was cooking. It quickly spread to a camper in the driveway and then the home itself. The fire was able to spread so quickly thanks to wind gusts of nearly 50 mph. The camper, garage, a car inside the garage, and the home are all likely to be a total loss. The family has made other living arrangements at this time.
