Fire has destroyed a Charles City home, according to KIMT. Firefighters were called to the 2900 block of Cottonwood Place around 1:35 a.m. Sunday. Two adults were able to escape after being alerted by smoke alarms. Firefighters were able to rescue several pets, including two cats. The home is likely a total loss. No injuries were reported and cause of the fire is not thought to be suspicious.
