A fire destroyed an Evansdale house Friday night into Saturday morning, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Crews were called to 617 East End Avenue around 1am Saturday. The home had been vacant but neighbors reported that squatters had been staying in the house. The fire also damaged the neighbor’s homes on either side. Nobody was injured in the blaze, including a woman in a neighboring home that typically uses a wheelchair that had to crawl out of her house. The fire remains under investigation at this time.
