According to KWWL, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Fire Program is dispatching wildland firefighters to help with wildfires on the western seaboard. An Iowa DNR engine and crew is currently in southern California, and support specialists and EMTs from the state are also in northern California and Oregon.
Fire program supervisor Ryan Harr says there are currently 12 to 14 total people deployed across the area.
