Fireworks Lead to Firearms Arrest

According to KWWL, a Waterloo man is in jail after police arrested him Friday evening after responding to a reported shots fired incident.

At 10:40 p.m., officers arrived at 435 Conger Avenue, where they conducted a search warrant. During the search, they discovered evidence of a fireworks violation, as well as a weapon and shell casings on the ground.

They also obtained a recording, where a woman could be heard asking a man to not fire a weapon, because there were children in the area. An investigation into this specific evidence, led police to arrest 37 year old Marquise Johnson of Waterloo.

He’s being charged with reckless use of a firearm, a felon in possession of a firearm, child endangerment, and fireworks violation.
