Fireworks Use Banned

Waterloo is banning the use of fireworks inside the city limits. The city council approved the ban Monday night and also limited fireworks sales to industrial areas of the city. The changes could go into effect as early as Friday. Last summer Waterloo police responded to hundreds of complaints about fireworks. The governor signed a bill into law earlier this year that legalized fireworks in the state during periods around the Fourth of July and New Year’s Day.
