Allen Hospital is reporting that their first baby of the year was delivered at 12:11 New Year’s Day morning. They believe it is the first baby of the year in the Cedar Valley. The baby is a girl, born to Lindsey and Brian Folkerts. She came in at 8 pounds 12 ounces and is 21 inches long. She has three older siblings. Brian Folkerts is a former NFL player and served as Tight Ends and Tackles Coach at UNI this past season.
