Less than an hour into the new year Waterloo experienced its first shooting of the year, according to KWWL. Police were called to SAC’s Neighborhood Pub on Hawthorne Avenue on a report of a person being shot. When they arrived on scene they found that there were actually three shooting victims. All three were sitting in a vehicle in an adjacent parking lot. One person was shot in the upper body, a second was shot in the midsection, and the third’s face was grazed by a bullet. The first two victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening. The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
