Wednesday at 6:42 p.m. Waverly police officers responded to a two vehicle crash near the entrance of the Norby’s parking lot on 4th St SW. A truck towing a food vendor trailer that witnesses say was a Chick-fil-a vendor was attempting to turn left into Norby’s and failed to yield to a semi that was northbound. The two vehicles collided in the northbound lane. The driver of the food truck was taken to the Waverly Health Center with non-life threatening injuries and was charged with failure to yield when making a left turn. The roadway was closed until 8:00 Wednesday night to clear the road of spilled liquids.
