The former President and CEO of Allen Memorial Hospital has died, according to KWWL. Larry Pugh was part of the hospital for 40, including 14 as the President and CEO before retiring in 1998. He was originally from Montezuma and received a Bachelor’s Degree, Physical Therapy Certificate and Master’s in Hospital and Health Administration from the University of Iowa. He was given an honorary doctorate from Allen College as well. He was 86 years old when he died on Christmas Eve. Memorials can be made to the Larry and Virginia Pugh Scholarship for Leadership at the Allen Foundation in Waterloo or the Arthritis Foundation.
