Former Cedar Valley Business Owner Indicted

A former Cedar Valley business owner has been indicted on federal charges of mishandling hazardous materials. Authorities say that when Richard Delp closed Cedar Valley Electroplating in 2011, multiple 55 gallon drums of corrosive and hazardous waste were left behind and were leaking and unlabeld. The indictment also alleges that the company stored hazardous waste since 2004 without the proper permits. The resulting cleanup required removal of the containers, along with contaminated earth and interior materials and cost in excess of $750,000.
