A former Waterloo teacher has been sentenced to 8 months in federal prison, according to KWWL. 59 year old Anthony Dehl will also serve four months of home confinement after he is released from prison. Dehl admitted to defrauding the Waterloo Education Association, for which he was the treasurer, of over $54,000. He was able to cover his tracks by submitting false treasurer reports and other yearly reports. In addition to his prison term, Dehl was ordered to repay the more than $54,000, which he has done. He was also fined $4,000. Dehl is to surrender to United States Marshals on August 3rd.
