Former UNI Student Found Guilty for Threatening to Shoot Dean

A former UNI student has been found guilty of threatening to shoot a dean, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The jury deliberated just 90 minutes yesterday before finding 26 year old Aisha Nyala guilty of Intimidation With a Weapon With Intent. Nyala had used social media to call the Dean of Students, Allyson Rafanello, a racist and to call for her children to be shot. Nyala also called the Board of Regents on several occaions where she said if nothing was done about her complaints at UNI she would shoot Rafanello in the head. Rafanello was given extra protection by police when arriving and leaving her office and arrangements were made with the school her children attended. Nyala said she was sexually assaulted by a UNI employee, mistreated by the administration, and bullied about her education. Therefore, she wanted her tuition to be refunded or she would take matters into her own hands. Nyala is also facing Stalking and Harassment charges in connection to the incident, which will be the subject of a separate trial.
