A Fredericksburg woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to five of the 30 counts she faced after stealing from a Sumner couple. 36-year old Mindy Jo Riley pled to five of the forgery charges, while the theft and the other 10 forgery counts were dismissed. Riley was given five, five-year prison terms, with four of them to be served concurrently and the fifth to be served consecutively, resulting in 10 years. She will be taken to the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women to serve her term, but she has filed a $25,000 bond to appeal the sentence. She also must pay restitution in the amount that she stole to the victims, John and Megan Eimers, which can be paid in installments of at least $50 every 30 days.
