Starting this fall, 10 Waterloo schools will provide free breakfast and lunch all students. It’s a part of a federal Community Eligibility Provision program. That gives full reimbursement for meals in low income neighborhoods. Along with eliminating paper work, parent calls, and cutting service times, staff is looking forward to eliminating the stigma surrounding student who qualify for free and reduced lunch. The schools participating are: Elk Run Pre-school, Cunningham, Lincoln, Irving, Lowell, Kittrell, Sacred Heart, and Highland elementary schools. Also, Central Middle School, Carver Academy, and Expo Alternative Learning Center.
