The Janesville Public Works is warning residents and businesses about the possibility of their water service lines freezing. They say to let your water run for a few minutes and then check the temperature of the water from the cold water faucet. If it is below 40 degrees, consider letting your water run with a stream about the size of a pencil from a single cold water faucet. This should help avoid pipes freezing but will increase water/sewer usage for which the homeowner or business owner will be responsible for.
