Iowa wrestling legend and Waterloo native Dan Gable will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom Monday. Gable along with his family and some friends will be at the White House to receive the medal from President Donald Trump. The ceremony is expected to take place at 10:30 central. Gable won the 1972 Olympic Gold Medal without surrendering a single point. He wrestled collegiately at Iowa State before leading Iowa to 15 NCAA Team Titles as a coach. He now has a statue outside Carver Hawkeye Arena.
