Gas Prices Jump Again

Gas prices at the Kwik Star on the south side of Waverly have again made a jump overnight, rising to $4.49, 20 cents more than Tuesday. That seems to be at odds with the rest of the state according to AAA. They say the current average for a gallon of regular gas across the state is $4.18, down four cents from a week ago. That is also 51 cents more expensive than a month ago and $1.30 more expensive than a year ago. The national average is closer to Waverly’s gas prices at $4.51. The highest recorded average price for regular unleaded gas in Iowa was in June of 2022 when prices reached $4.76.
