Gas Spikes Overnight

Gas prices continue to rise at an alarming rate, including a 30 cent increase overnight in Waverly. A gallon of unleaded gas at the Kwik Star on the south side of town was $3.99 Sunday. Monday, that price has jumped to $4.29. Gas prices have gone up significantly since the start of the war in Iran. AAA says the average price for a gallon of gas in the state of Iowa is currently $3.94, up exactly one dollar from a year ago, 44 cents from a month ago, and 24 cents from a week ago. The national average is currently $4.45.
