The way the Board of Supervisors are elected is being changed in Floyd County, according to the Globe Gazette. In a special election 67% of voters decided that the county should be divided into three districts with one supervisor coming from each district, as opposed to the current mode of electing supervisors at large. The Coalition of Better County Government presented a petition on June 1st seeking a special election. The supervisors rejected that petition, however, the petition contained 1,100 signatures which met the requirements of Iowa law.
