The Iowa Department of Transportation says they will use $24 million in federal funding to completely redesign one of the most dangerous intersections in Black Hawk County, according to KWWL. The intersection of Highway 58 and Greenhill Road will be turned into a double teardrop roundabout interchange, similar to the intersection of Highway 58 and University Avenue. The amount of traffic at Highway 58 and Greenhill Road is expected to grow with continued development in the area, which the new design is expected to alleviate. Several more years of planning will be needed before construction begins in 2029. The project is expected to take about two construction seasons to complete.
