Gun Fired in Dog Attack

Police in Cedar Falls are investigating an incident in which a woman fired a gun to scare off a dog from attacking her dog, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Around 6:30 on Wednesday the woman was walking her dog when they met another dog and its owner. The other dog allegedly attacked the woman’s dog. That’s when the woman produced a gun and fired it in the air. That failed to deter the attacking dog. The other owner was able to separate the dogs. That person was cited by Animal Control while the gun issue was referred to the Black Hawk County Attorney’s Office.
