A fight at the Waterloo East vs Waterloo West football game on Friday led to the arrest of a teenager and the seizure of a so called ghost gun, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police at the game noticed the disturbance that caused people to scatter and, as they attempted to intervene, received word that a person involved was carrying a firearm. When they approached 19 year old Dayton Bruce he took off running and digging into his waistband. Police were able to eventually catch Bruce. They later found a gun in the back of pickup, that they allege Bruce dumped. The gun has been described as a 9mm ghost semi-automatic handgun. Ghost guns are usually made from partially complete frames and finished with common tools and, until recently, did not require a serial number, making them attractive to criminals. Bruce was charge with Carrying Weapons on School Grounds and Interference While Armed. In June he was arrested after allegedly dumping a 9mm Ruger while running from a vehicle that was identified as being involved in a shooting.
