Gunfire Leads to Arrests

Two people from Waterloo were arrested after gunfire rang out Wednesday, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Waterloo’s Violent Crime Apprehension Team was already surveilling the home of 17 year old Isaiah Capps. While they were watching, he left the home and began shooting a gun, according to witnesses. He then returned the home, changed his clothes and left again in a car. Police pulled the car over and took Capps into custody.

He has been charged as an adult with Intimidation With a Weapon, Going Armed, and Carrying Weapons. There were no reported injuries in the shooting. While police were securing the home to execute a search warrant, 20 year old Johnathan Elliot Jr. ran from the home. Police allege he tossed a gun before they were able to take him into custody. He has been charged with Interference While Armed.
