On March 21, 2024, at 10:02 PM, the Black Hawk County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a field fire involving hay bales. First arriving units found a large amount of fire coming from approximately 12 hay bales and the nearby fence row. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to the nearby structures. Cedar Falls Fire Rescue was assisted by Cedar Falls Public Works and Black Hawk County Dispatch.
