Halloween Vandalism

Halloween is right around the corner and is usually a time for family fun and community bonding. But there is a darker side to the holiday: the “trick” in “trick-or-treating,” legally referred to as vandalism. This could be anything from taking or knocking over displays, breaking pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns, or draping toilet paper over houses and trees.

While there have not been many reports of vandalism in the past, Chief Deputy Robert Whitney from the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office shares what could happen in such a case:

City-wide trick-or-treating in Waverly is from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Halloween night.
