Heavy winds caused issues throughout the area Wednesday, including knocking down a tree in Denver that, in turn, took out a powerline. Portions of Franklin, Powell, and Main Streets were without power for several hours while public works employees worked to restore the power. Once they were done there they moved on to the area of Timmerman Drive and Midway Avenue, which also lost power. The city of Denver is preparing to move their electric infrastructure underground to avoid these situations in the future.
