Work on the Bremer Avenue Bridge in Waverly has been halted. Pete Hjelmstad from the Iowa Department of Transportation says that high river levels has put the project on hold. According to Hjelmstad if the pause lasts for just a few days, it will not affect the project’s end date, but if the delay lasts for weeks, the end date would have to be reevaluated. There is rain in the forecast for four of the next five days.
