The Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City is about to get a $40 million expansion, according to KIMT. The plan is for the main hospital to get a new entrance with an atrium, drive under canopy, registration and waiting areas, new speech and occupational therapy departments, updates and expansion to the lab department, new conference and training room, increased parking, and a new pharmacy. The project will also include a new three story clinic. The entire project is funded by owner equity, a USDA loan, grants, and local bank financing. It is expected to be completed in the spring of 2026.
