The Gilbertville Fire Department were among several that responded to a house fire Saturday night, according to KWWL. The fire broke out at about 8:45 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the roof. Temperatures at the time were around -10 degrees which caused issues for the firefighters. Their hose lines, pumps, and firefighter air packs kept freezing. The fire was finally under control by midnight, however a hotspot between the roof and ceiling later flared up. Everyone in the home was able to escape unharmed.
