Waterloo Police are investigating after a city worker found a nearly complete human skeleton at the city’s wastewater treatment plant, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The worker found the skeleton in a pond inside the facility on Easton Avenue around noon on Monday. The identity of the person has not been established to this point, although the Courier has speculated as to whom it may be. The cause of death is also unknown at this time. The skeleton has been sent to the Iowa Medical Examiner’s Office where dental records and DNA will be utilized to identify the remains.
