According to KWWL, Interstate 35 from Ames to the Minnesota border is now fully open, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation. The stretch from U.S. 30 (Exit 111) to U.S. 18 (Exit 194) reopened at 2:35 Monday afternoon.
Travelers are advised to exercise extreme caution as some roads remain partially covered with snow and ice. Officials say it is important to maintain a safe distance between vehicles and reduce speed as conditions continue to improve.
