The Janesville Police Department says that they are receiving an influx of complaints about stray cats. They say that their ability to deal with this issue is limited because there is no established animal control team in the county. They assert that the problem is individuals who continuously feed the stray cats. To help with the issue they are asking the public to remove food sources for the cats, avoid feeding without a plan as it can attract more cats, trap and relocate the stray cats, and adopt and socialize friendly strays and kittens when possible.
