Iowa Gets $44 million from FEMA

The Federal Emergency Management Agency or FEMA has made $44 million available to the State of Iowa under the major disaster declaration. The money will be used to purchase Personal Protective Equipment. That includes isolation gowns, masks, face shields, safety glasses, gloves, thermometers, disinfecting wipes, sanitizer, respirators, and ventilators. Those items can be used in hospitals, medical clinics, city and county governments, and certain private non profits across the state. The latest numbers say Iowa has seen 868 positive tests for COVID-19.
