The Director of the Iowa Irish Fest in Waterloo is facing two charges after allegedly driving drunk in late November, according to KWWL. According to a witness, they observed Chad Shipman swerving over the center line and into oncoming traffic and driving over curbs back on November 29th. The witness followed Shipman to his home. Police soon arrived to question Shipman, but he shut the door on them multiple times. He has been charged with Interference with Official Acts as well as Operating While Under the Influence. Major Joe Leibold says Shipman refused a breathalyzer test so they are now awaiting toxicology reports. Shipman has been the Director of the Iowa Irish Fest since 2007.
