The Janesville Police Department will soon welcome their first K9 to the force, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. A black lab named Indy will become the only K9 unit in Bremer County. Indy will be called upon to assist in traffic stops, searches for narcotics, and tracking lost children and juvenile runaways. Chad Luck will be Indy’s handler, he says not only will Indy serve that role in Janesville but surrounding police forces could call upon them for assistance. Indy will join the Janesville Police Department sometime in the coming months.
