Janesville Man Headed to Prison

A Janesville man has been sentence to a long prison term after being found guilty of trafficking methamphetamine, according to the Courier. 44 year old Robert Lewis was sentenced to 30 years in prison in US District Court in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday. Once that prison term is completed he will also have to serve five years of supervised release. Lewis was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute at least 500 grams of a mixture of methamphetamine and 50 grams of actual methamphetamine. Court documents say took over operations for another individual who had fled the country to avoid prosecution. After Lewis’ trial he was also found to have obstructed justice by threatening multiple witnesses who testified against him.
