Janesville Man Takes Plea Deal in Drug Case

A Janesville man has taken a plea deal in a drug case out of Hancock County, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 59 year old Rodney Schult was found slumped over the wheel of his car in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Britt in the middle of the afternoon on May 13th. He allegedly had a methamphetamine pipe in his lap and tried to smash it after seeing law enforcement. During the intake process at the Winnebago County Jail, staff allegedly found a small plastic bag of methamphetamine on his person. He has now pleaded guilty to one count of third offense Possession of Methamphetamine as a Habitual Felony Offender. Several other charges were dropped. He faces up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on August 19th.
