The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday about an upside down vehicle in a ditch about a mile south of Westgate. When deputies arrived on scene they found a green Jeep Patriot Sport on its top but unoccupied. After an investigation, it was discovered that 61 year old Steven Hatter was the owner of the vehicle. He was located and allegedly admitted to losing control and entering the ditch. Hatter was apparently injured in the accident but refused medical treatment. He was cited for Failure to Maintain Control. The Jeep is considered a total loss.
