J&J Vaccine Coming to Iowa

Iowa will receive its first shipment of the Johnson & Johnson single dose vaccine by the end of this week, according to KWWL. This new vaccine received an emergency authorization on Saturday. 25,600 doses will be sent to Iowa. 17 counties will get some of those doses to be given to people in Tier 2 of Phase 1B of the state’s vaccination plan. That includes people who are front line essential workers in food, agriculture, distribution, and manufacturing and those with disabilities. Black Hawk County is the only county in our listening area that will receive the Johnson & Johnson version of the vaccine.
