On September 14, 2026, Bremer County Deputies and SEMS responded to a possible medical issue with an individual at Cub Park, in Sumner. It was discovered the juvenile male was intoxicated and one of a larger group that was involved in theft of alcohol from a convenience store in Sumner, as well as destruction of property at Cub Park. Further investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Sumner Police Department resulted in juvenile court referrals on three female juveniles and 4 male juveniles. Charges included 5th degree theft, criminal mischief 5th, aiding and abetting, and possession of alcohol under the legal age.
