The City of Waverly and the Neil Smith Estate have finalized the purchase of the last 62.49 acres of farmland for Champions Ridge. The 5-year-old project will be the new home of the Waverly baseball and softball diamonds and the Bremer County Fair. The deed report from the Bremer County Recorder’s Office says the city paid $579,157 to Smith’s trust, which is run by Darrel Parmer, one of the heirs.
