Eric Dane Reveals ALS Diagnosis, Plans to Continue Acting Career
Actor Eric Dane, renowned for his roles in “Grey’s Anatomy” and HBO’s “Euphoria,” has publicly disclosed his diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurodegenerative disease. Despite this challenging news, the 52-year-old actor expressed his intention to continue working, stating he feels “fortunate” to return to the set of “Euphoria” for its upcoming season.
In a statement, Dane shared his gratitude for the support of his family during this time and requested privacy as they navigate this new chapter. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to loss of muscle control. While there is currently no cure, some individuals live with the condition for many years.
Dane’s announcement has prompted an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues alike. His openness about his diagnosis brings attention to ALS and underscores the importance of continued research and support for those affected by the disease.
