Two children have died and another is in a medically induced coma following a crash during a family vacation to Kenya, according to KWWL. The crash occurred Sunday near Nairobi. In the accident Emmanuel DeLeon, an eighth grader at Hoover Middle School, and his little brother Kairu Winkelpleck, a preschooler, were killed. Their older sister, Njeri DeLeon, a junior at West, was also critically injured. She has been placed in a medically induced coma. The parents were not severely injured. A gofundme has been established for the family. The gofundme is titled “Support for Leah, Christopher and DeLeon Family” and has a goal to raise $40,000 for critical care and surgery costs, funeral expenses, and to help the parents stay in Kenya while Njeri recovers. As of this morning more than $27,000 had been raised.
