Local Man Found in Mississippi River Dead

The body of a Waterloo man has been found in the Mississippi River, according to KWWL. 41 year old Neven Soknic was reported missing on July 9th. At that time it was thought that Soknic may have gotten lost in Clayton County. On Saturday Soknic’s body was found by a fisherman north of the Cassville ferry landing. The cause and manner of death are still under investigation. An autopsy has been conducted by the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office, however they are awaiting toxicology results. Authorities do no suspect foul play at this time.
