Local Police Officer Injured

A Charles City police officer was taken to a hospital after being dragged by a suspects car who was attempting to elude arrest, according to KIMT. In the early morning hours of Thursday a police chase entered the city limits of Charles City. While in town a Charles City police officer collided with the suspects vehicle, driven by 32 year old Bryant Johnston of North St Paul, Minnesota. The suspect was able to continue on, going behind a business and dragging the officer a short distance. Eventually, the suspects vehicle became stuck in a snow pile where he was arrested. He is facing multiple charges. The officer was taken to the Floyd County Medical Center for treatment of several injuries but was released after a few hours. His vehicle received more than $2,000 of damage to the front end.
