An occupational therapist accused of wrongdoing in Mason City and Waverly has pleaded guilty to federal charges, according to KIMT. Samantha Rogers entered guilty pleas yesterday to acquiring a controlled substance by fraud, wrongfully obtaining health information for personal gain, and making false statements related to health care matters. The plea was part of a deal that saw multiple other charges dismissed. According to prosecutors Rogers was fired from the IOOF home in Mason City in January of 2017 after she took prescription pills out of the purse of a fellow employee. She also is accused of accessing patient records and visiting four of their homes to try to steal prescription drugs while she was employed at Northern Iowa Therapy in Waverly. Her sentencing date has not yet been set.
